When James first contacted me about photographing his and Megan’s wedding day, I think I actually squealed in excitement Actually in honesty I do this for pretty much all the weddings I book… but this one was so special, because I had photographed James’ sisters wedding a few years earlier, so already knew the family and was so honoured that they would ask me again to document the next family wedding.

James and Megan tied the knot on a gloriously hot summers day (37 degrees) in the Yarra Valley at Inglewood Estate. This was my first Yarra Valley Wedding and I was so thrilled to be able to document such a spectacular occasion in this setting. What stands out for me from this wedding day is not the heat, it was the fact that this couple did not for 1 minute let the weather define their day. They smiled through the sweat, drank plenty of drinks to hydrate and celebrated in such gorgeous form with their loved ones. I loved escaping with them at sunset for some sneaky shots (no killer sunset but lovely soft light) and time just the two of them to soak up what was a truly wonderful day.

Celebrant Kate Nicols officiated the ceremony and it was so lovely working with such a bubbly, vibrant and kind woman. We clicked straight away and I can’t wait to work with her again in the future.

Megan and her stunning dress actually sparkled and I am so happy that these two were so thrilled with their images. Reviews like this seriously make me beam with joy (I got this email from the couple on Christmas eve and it was actually the best gift of all).

“WOW. Just spent some time on our IPAD looking at the photos you sent through to us!!! We absolutely adore them! It’s been so lovely and exciting going through them and reliving the magical day all over again!!! You wouldn’t even know it was 37 degrees at the time hahah!!! Once again Katie, thanks so much for capturing our wedding day for us you have given us memories to treasure and hold forever. Lots of love” M & J
